2020 NCCSA All-State Music Clinic Band Audition Information

Because we do not yet have the most accurate information for each Fine Arts Coordinator this year, please forward this to your current Fine Arts Coordinator/Band Director.

Due to COVID-19 related issues that are outside our control, the 2020 NCCSA All-State Music Clinic rehearsals and performances have been canceled (please read the audition letter to review the reasons for the cancellation). Although the rehearsals and performances have been canceled, many directors feel there is much value in the audition process; therefore, auditions will be held as normal. The audition process develops fundamental skills, helps students make serious preparation, and motivates them to do their best. Please note the following important details:

  • The deadline to upload audition recordings has been extended to Tuesday, October 20.
  • There will be a small fee for auditioning students to help the NCCSA pay for honors band medals: 1–5 students: $50 | 6–10 students: $100 | 11+ students: $200.
  • The audition results will be announced on live video Thursday, November 12, at 3:30 p.m.

As we have done the last few years, all band audition MP3s will be uploaded directly to the NCCSA Box Platform, so please pay attention to the details listed in the letter at the link below. Also, please note that all band rosters must be emailed to Brent Brondyke, NCCSA Auditions Chairman, by Tuesday, October 20. Late uploads and rosters will be accepted until October 23 for an additional fee. Read the audition letter at the link below for more details.

This event is not limited to schools with seasoned music programs. Students from schools with organized music programs as well as students who have honed their musical talents on their own may participate in the audition process.

The audition letter and details are available at the NCCSA All-State Music Clinic page: https://www.nccsa.org/programs/fine-arts/all-state-band-clinic/.

The password to open the sight-reading PDFs and upload the MP3s has been emailed to each school.
