  • Inclement Weather Update:
    • Members of the NCCSA Athletic Committee are continuing to monitor the weather for this weekend’s tournaments. In last night’s email that is forwarded below, we explained that the athletic committee feels it is necessary to have the tournaments this weekend if at all possible since many schools have planned events during the rain dates that are published on the NCCSA calendar. With this said, here are a few options we are considering:
      • Option 1 – Proceed with the tournament as planned. Games will be paused if there is inclement weather and will resume as quickly as possible.
      • Option 2 – If the inclement weather prohibits games from being played today, a schedule has already been created that would allow games to begin early Saturday morning.
      • Option 3 – If the inclement weather prohibits games from being played Friday or Saturday, we will have to use the scheduled rain dates next weekend. We understand this is not ideal, so that is why we are going to do everything we can to have the tournament games this weekend.

Any further changes will be communicated. Thank you for your cooperation.

May 12, 2022 – This email is for those schools participating in this weekend’s 2022 NCCSA Spring State Tournaments. Please be sure to review pages 36–37 of the NCCSA Athletic Handbook concerning tournament inclement weather procedures. Please forward this email if needed.

The NCCSA continues to monitor the weather as it concerns the 2022 NCCSA Spring State Tournaments. The Double A semifinals for girls’ soccer and baseball have been completed, and WCA’s fields are in excellent condition. Our intent is to play the games as scheduled on both Friday and Saturday. We will not announce any further changes unless inclement weather delays or postpones Friday’s games. If this happens, we have a plan to complete all games on Saturday and will start as early as necessary on Saturday to complete the tournament.

We realize having Friday’s scheduled games on Saturday is not ideal, but we feel it is necessary to finalize the tournament by all means necessary because too many schools have planned events during the rain dates that are published on the NCCSA calendar. If there are weather issues both Friday and Saturday, we will have no choice but to utilize next weekend’s dates.

Obviously, weather can change as can the field conditions, but it is our desire to complete the tournament this weekend. We will continue to communicate as needed concerning the tournament schedule.

      Thank you for your cooperation.
