Executive Staff

The NCCSA was established in 1992 through the merger of the North Carolina Christian School Activities Association (NCCSAA) and its corresponding legislative organization. Dr. Joe Haas was appointed as the NCCSA’s first Executive Director, serving with distinction for 30 years, from its inception in 1992 until 2022.

Due to his extensive knowledge and leadership in overseeing various NCCSA programs and services, along with over 20 years of experience as the NCCSA Director of Programs and Services, the NCCSA Board of Directors initiated the process to interview Dr. Jason Haas for the role of the next Executive Director. Dr. Haas began his journey with the NCCSA in the summer of 1999. On February 17, 2022, the NCCSA Board of Directors unanimously voted to offer him the Executive Director position. Dr. Haas formally accepted the role on April 14, 2022, and assumed his responsibilities as the NCCSA’s current Executive Director on July 1, 2022.

Dr. Haas holds a bachelor’s degree in education (1998), a master’s degree in educational leadership (2002), an education specialist degree in educational leadership (2012), and a doctorate in educational leadership (2016). As the Executive Director of the NCCSA, Dr. Haas oversees daily operations and serves as the organizational lead, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to Christian schools across North Carolina.

In addition to the Executive Director position, the NCCSA employs other executive leaders, executive assistants, and other personnel who assist in managing day-to-day operations and responsibilities associated with the NCCSA. The association also maintains agreements with numerous contract employees who assist in supervising various areas including athletics, fine arts, legislative monitoring, certification, school accreditation, staff development, and other programs and services offered by the NCCSA.
