NCCSA Administrator:
Please forward this email to your faculty members. The following opportunities are available for NCCSA members to receive professional development training this year:
- The NCCSA began online professional development workshops for the 2023-2024 school year. These online workshops have been extremely successful, and you can review the registration packet HERE for more information and details on how to register for the remaining two sessions scheduled for this school year. A similar format and structure will likely be followed in the 2025–2026 school year. More information will be communicated later this year.
- The 2025 NCCSA Summer Professional Development workshops will be available on Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29, 2025. This year’s theme will focus on Artificial Intelligence and various tools that will assist educators in the K-12 teaching/learning process. This year’s speakers will be two convention favorites: Andrea Baer (Cramerton Christian Academy) and Dr. Jenny Copeland (BJU Press). More information will be communicated at a later time.
- The 2025 NCCSA Administrators’ Conference will be Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29, 2025. This year’s main speaker will be Scott Barron. Scott is the founder of School Growth, an organization that helps schools and educators thrive. He has over 21 years of experience in education as a school head and board member. He is also a sought-after speaker and author, inspiring educators around the world. At School Growth, Scott provides strategic direction, business development, content creation, and executive coaching.
- The 2025 Southeast Christian School Convention will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on September 24–26, 2025. The NCCSA will join the state associations from Georgia and South Carolina for this event. In addition, schools from West Virginia and Florida will be joining us this year. Additional details will be available in the near future. Please CLICK HERE if you are interested in submitting a workshop proposal form.
- Building Community – The NCCSA is exploring various association management platforms to provide a centralized location for member management, registration forms, CEU administration, discussion boards, and more. If selecting a comprehensive platform proves challenging, we will prioritize implementing a stand-alone discussion board to foster communication and collaboration among NCCSA members.
- NCCSA Online Administrator Meetings – The NCCSA desires to be more consistent in scheduling online meetings for school administration. Occasionally, these will have a professional development focus, but we also want to ensure we facilitate opportunities for continued fellowship and networking. We will communicate with school leadership when these are scheduled. We hope to schedule a few for the remainder of this school year and develop a more consistent schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.
- NCCSA Certification and Accreditation – Schools have always been able to utilize NCCSA School Accreditation and Certification for faculty professional development. The number of schools that have contacted the NCCSA about NCCSA Certification and Accreditation has increased significantly. This is primarily for three reasons: 1) the schools’ desire to improve their instructional program, 2) public relations scrutiny and pressure from stakeholders for schools to improve, and 3) the accreditation requirements from other school choice programs in other states.School Accreditation is a proven way to improve the quality of your school’s instructional program and strengthen your school’s image in the community. School Accreditation cannot ensure quality in any school. It will, however, cause a Christian school to evaluate its educational process and help a Christian school identify its programs’ weaknesses and receive suggestions for improvement. In combination with the NCCSA School Accreditation Program, the NCCSA Certification Program is designed to recognize educators for their professional credentials. This program is not designed to measure the effectiveness or quality of a teacher. It is simply a program that provides a uniform procedure for appraising college training and professional teaching credentials. This program provides measurable outcomes by requiring a specific number of professional development hours during the applicant’s renewal period and analyzing the formal training of each applicant.
These professional development activities are useful for any school, but are especially needed for the many schools that participate in the NCCSA Educator Certification Program. Official Category A NCCSA CEUs can be earned for most of these training events and count toward the “official NCCSA CEU/Category A” credit that is required by the NCCSA Educator Certification Manual—2020 Edition. Please refer to each event’s registration materials for information regarding potential CEU opportunities. Any educator certified by the NCCSA must complete a specific amount of CEU renewal work at NCCSA professional development events such as these. Please see the certification manual for additional details.
Please let your faculty/staff know about these opportunities for professional development. We will let you know when additional information is available.
