2019 NCCSA Professional Development Activities

The following opportunities are available for NCCSA members to receive professional development training this year.

  1. The 2019 NCCSA Summer Professional Development Seminar will take place at Faith Christian Academy in Goldsboro on Monday and Tuesday, July 22-23. We are pleased to announce that NCCSA Convention favorite, Dr. Cathy Dotson, will be joining Linda Abrams, a BJU professor in the Division of History, Government, and Social Science department, to lead this summer’s training. The title of this year’s seminar will be Do You Have the HOTS for Learning? (Higher Order Thinking Skills) Again this year, a few breakout sessions will be available. Registration information will be available in a few months.
  2. The 2019 NCCSA Summer Administrators’ Seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, at Faith Christian Academy in Goldsboro. The speaker this year is David Lovegrove. Mr. Lovegrove is the Chief Marketing Officer for Bob Jones University. The topic for Tuesday’s administrators’ sessions is A Marketing Approach to Christian Education. Registration information will be available in a few months.
  3. The 2019 Southeast Christian School Convention will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on September 25–27 and will join the state associations from Georgia and South Carolina. Additional details will be available in the near future. Even though we are using most workshops from the canceled convention this past fall, please see the NCCSA website if you are interested in submitting a workshop proposal form.

Because there was no summer professional development or convention in 2018, the NCCSA strongly encourages NCCSA-certified individuals to plan to attend both events. Official Category A/NCCSA CEUs will be earned for these training events and will count toward the “official NCCSA CEU/Category A” credit that is required for NCCSA Teacher Certification—2016 Edition. Any teacher certified by the NCCSA must complete at least 35% of the CEU renewal work at NCCSA professional development events such as these.

Please let your faculty/staff know about these opportunities for professional development. We will let you know when additional information is available.
